About Us

Find My Mailbox

The short version: Find My Mailbox is a free, independent tool that helps you find the nearest USPS collection box or post office and get instant directions — no app, no account, no hassle.

Why we built this

Find My Mailbox started from a simple, everyday frustration: you have a letter to mail, and you're not sure where the nearest blue USPS collection box actually is. Google Maps wasn't built for this specific question, and USPS's own locator tools can be slow and clunky on a phone.

So we built a tool that does exactly one thing well: show you the mailboxes and post offices closest to you, right now, with a tap — and get you walking or driving directions in seconds.

What we offer

Instant location of nearby USPS mailboxes and post offices using your phone's GPS
Walking and driving directions to any mailbox on the map
A manual address or ZIP code search for when you'd rather not share your location
Dedicated city pages for dozens of major U.S. cities
No sign-up, no app download, and no cost to use

How it works

Find My Mailbox combines live mapping data from OpenStreetMap with Mapbox's routing and geocoding services to locate mailboxes near you and calculate the fastest route. Everything runs directly in your browser — your location is never stored on our servers.

Find My Mailbox is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the United States Postal Service. Mailbox location data is community-maintained and may occasionally be incomplete or out of date.

Our approach to privacy

We only use your location to find nearby mailboxes — it's never stored or sold. You can read the full details on our Privacy Policy page.
